Position Title: Associate Web Developer

Supervisor: Chief Marketing Officer

Sojourners has an immediate opening for an Associate Web Developer in our Washington, D.C. office. The ideal candidate will have a combination of Web production experience and design skills as well as excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.The Associate Web Developer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: supporting Sojourners’ existing Web infrastructure; daily content maintenance and publishing management; quality assurance on content; monitoring and reporting of Web, e-mail and social media metrics; development and design of pages, online advertising, e-mail campaigns, multimedia projects, and other special projects.

DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work in a support role with our Senior Web Technologist to maintain and enhance the Sojourners’ web site, CMS, and CRM systems.
• Perform ongoing maintenance and updating of web systems.
• Produce sub-sites, landing pages, e-mail campaigns, advertising, widgets and Web objects as requested.
• Multimedia production and editing of audio, video, and mixed-media projects.
• Develop weekly and monthly online marketing metric reports.
• Train staff on Web technologies; trouble-shoot, and assist with problem-solving.
• Innovate and introduce new Web technologies and best practices.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to configure and manage a Drupal CMS; experience in Drupal strongly preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced experience with HTML/CSS.
• Experience with Web development applications such as DreamWeaver, Flash.
• Database administration skills, including knowledge and experience with MySQL, SQL, Oracle,  or other enterprise-scale database.
• Experience with CRM systems – Convio, GetActive, Blackbaud.
• Knowledge of domain registration, setup, and transfer.
• Online marketing orientation – understands basic Web and e-mail direct response metrics, able to pull analytic reports and synthesize actionable recommendations from data.
• Graphic design skills preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with church and progressive faith-based networks and perspective.
